Four Steps to Bring Ho'oponopono To Your Life

Four Simple Steps to Bring Ho'oponopono To Your Life

Step 1: Repentance – I’M SORRY

Go on, say it sincerely - "I am sorry".

Take responsibility for your actions, apologize and repent.

Once you bring that to reality, it’s natural to feel sorry. Clearing your conscience of your mistakes will allow yourself the space to think positively and heal.

Repenting may require making amends and offering some sort of retribution to people you have harmed.  Regardless of your level or responsibility or culpability, ultimately you are responsible for everything in your mind, even if you don't completely accept the specific event details.

You are responsible for both your thoughts and your actions. It is natural to feel remorse for wrongdoing; it is not good for anyone to hang on to the guilt and negative feelings.

This realization may be painful, and you may feel an urge to resist accepting responsibility for the “apparently not of your doing" problems - but once you start to practice this method on your more obvious “internal and self” problems you'll see such powerful results it will be an organic progression.

Let's begin with something that you 100% know you’ve caused for yourself. Over-weight? Addicted to nicotine, alcohol, etc? Have you struggled with anger today? Health? Start with one of these and say you’re sorry.

That’s the whole step in one: I’M SORRY

Although it is more powerful if you say it more clearly:

“I realize that I am responsible for this (issue) that is part of my present life and I feel complete remorse that I am responsible in my consciousness for causing this.”

Step 2: Ask Forgiveness – PLEASE FORGIVE ME

Please forgive me. One more time - PLEASE FORGIVE ME.

Ask the people you harmed, or who have suffered from your thoughts, words or actions to forgive you.

It's here that you are free to unburden your appeal to a higher power - a universal intelligence - or God for forgiveness. The practice of Ho'oponopono also implores you to take a leadership role and forgive others for their mistakes.

It's asking for the reception of forgiveness and at the same time offering your own forgiveness, unconditionally and without qualification.  It's a give and a take - which is really a flow - so see if you can feel the flow of forgiveness out through your body and spirit as you embrace the flow in.

Forgiveness is a dynamic energy - it isn't held or captured - you experience it and then pass it on, like a flame it extinguishes suffering and nothing remains except dust.

Once you know you have been forgiven and have shown forgiveness, a burden will be lifted and you will be free to make better choices and live a more peaceful life. It's a release, or a collapse or a breakthrough - be open to this.

Don’t worry about who you’re asking. Just ask! PLEASE FORGIVE ME. Say it over and over. Mean it. Breath - as you exhale offer others forgiveness, as you inhale, ask for forgiveness.  Let it seep into you.

Bring your remorse from the first step and relinquish it as you ask to be forgiven.

Step 3: Gratitude – THANK YOU

Thank you

Show an awestruck, global and transformative gratitude for being alive, having the presence of mind to be here right now, and the multitude of other gifts, successes and blessings that populate your existence.

It's the most profound and intense feeling of all - to share a humble and quiet joy at simply being alive.  It is such a collision of good luck, opportunity and precious in the now to be here.

Most of all, be utterly grateful that you have been forgiven, and had the humility to forgive.

Tell the people in your life that you are thankful.   Look them in the eye and really mean it.

Send your grateful thoughts to the universal intelligence or God and note all the vast riches you have been blessed with.

Grab a pen and write your blessings down on paper.  Watch your words drip from the pen and really connect with what your are giving thanks for. Expressing gratitude just makes you feel an intense thrill of happiness.

Say “THANK YOU” – again it doesn’t really matter who or what you’re thanking.

Thank your body for enduring all the processed junk you have fed it over the years. Thank yourself for giving yourself permission to be the best you can be.

Thank God. Thank the Universal Intelligence.

Become hoarse from saying thank you, nodding and smiling and holding your hands in a prayer-like position.

Just keep saying THANK YOU.

Step 4: Love – I LOVE YOU

I love you. Say the words out loud right now, at normal volume.  Hear yourself saying it.  Repeat it and say it over.  Become familiar with hearing your voice saying the words.

Now, since you have re-connected with these words, go and actually say them to people who are in your life.

It isn't easy.  Perhaps start with writing it down, or putting it in your journal, of exactly, specifically what you love about the people around you.

Accepting, appreciating and taking action on sharing love with those who love your life and the people in it has an amazing power to heal your heart.

Simply saying, "I love you," expressing gratitude and asking for forgiveness ignites a lifelong self-transformation process.

Take a moment and commit to the Ho'oponopono process with some of the key figures in your past and present life.

It really works to release and collapse with every person in your life with whom you are incomplete, or not
aligned.

The final step is bringing the person to your inner vision and being able to manifest them without any negative, shadow or toxic emotions or feelings.  If you do continue to feel shadow emotions, it really helps to take a day or so to process and release then re-engage the process again.

Ho’oponopno is a wonderful meditation to build into daily practice and
make it a lifestyle habit and part of your daily routine.
